Life cycle and maintenance

A floor's life cycle depends completely on the type of wear it is exposed to. Thus, one fully loaded lorry exposes the surface to the same degree of wear as 40,000 cars.

We have examples of floors where not a single tile has been needed to be replaced since 1994.

Other floors have been mounted in very difficult environments, where they have proven resistant to metal shavings and cutting fluids. These environments quite naturally require a tile substitution from time to time. Such cases demonstrate the advantage of individual floor tiles, as you only have to remove the specific worn tiles and not a complete floor, which of course, has a positive impact on business economics.

Tile substitution
Our floor tile coupling system using ‘c-locks’ facilitates an easy substitution of individual tiles or a row of tiles. You just take the tile, lift it up and replace it with a new one which is pushed onto the ‘c-lock’ couplings. If a row is to be replaced, you just remove it and put in a new row of tiles.
A strong product that tolerates strong cleaners
GRIP floors made from PEHD can tolerate all well-known cleaning agents, high pressure cleaning and hot water pressure washing. The tiles also withstand cleaning in dishwashers and autoclaves with steam temperatures of 130 °C.

Maintenance and substitution

A huge advantage when having to repair an Excellent Systems floor is that one square meter consists of 16 tiles. Therefore, you do NOT have to substitute the complete floor, but only tiles that are worn or broken. For the GRIP flooring tiles, slip resistance in demanding environments is an essential issue. Maintenance should therefore be included in purchase calculations from the very beginning, so that safety is maintained over time.
